Why Families Choose Us

Families choose First Discoveries because they want a safe, established environment where their child is seen, respected, and supported. They are looking for more than supervision — they want intentional structure, meaningful learning, and guidance that builds both character and capability.

Licensed & Established Since 2007

For 19 years, we have partnered with families during some of childhood’s most formative years. Licensed by the State of California and rooted in long-standing community trust.

Intentional Guidance

We believe behavior is communication. Children are guided with empathy, clear expectations, and consistent boundaries that build responsibility and emotional regulation.

Mixed-Age Leadership Model

Younger children learn by observing older peers, while older students take on small leadership roles that strengthen empathy, independence, and accountability.

Academic & Prep Readiness

Our Pre-K and TK program develops early literacy, number sense, fine motor skills, and classroom readiness through structured, hands-on learning.

Bilingual Environment

As a bilingual English-Spanish school, language is integrated naturally. Children build communication skills in both languages while developing cultural awareness.

Character Development

We weave values like kindness, patience, and gratitude into daily life. Children practice the fruits of the Spirit in real relationships, strengthening integrity.

Outdoor Learning

Daily time in our garden spaces strengthens coordination, resilience, teamwork, and curiosity. Children engage in active exploration, care for herb and vegetable gardens, and observe our Monarch butterfly nurseries — building both physical confidence and a meaningful connection to the natural world.

Bilingual Support

Language is woven naturally throughout the day. Children build confidence communicating in both English and Spanish within a supportive, structured environment. We also welcome students whose first language is neither English nor Spanish. Through consistent routines, visual cues, and partnership with families, children transition smoothly and begin developing language confidence — regardless of the language spoken at home.

Meals & Daily Care

Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, Toilet Training & Nap Family-style meals and snacks encourage independence, conversation, and daily routine in our peanut- and tree-nut-free environment. We partner with families to support toileting at any stage of development while children are enrolled. Bedding is provided for rest time, assigned to each child, and laundered and sanitized weekly.

Bible Class

Through Bible stories, prayer, and meaningful conversations, children practice kindness, gratitude, patience, and responsibility in their daily interactions. As we explore Scripture together, children discover practical lessons that support connection, integrity, and thoughtful living.

Multi-Age Leadership

2-6 in the School Year | 2-7 in Summer

Younger children learn by observing older peers, while older students take on small leadership roles that strengthen empathy, responsibility, and confidence. Research shows that mixed-age environments support social development, cooperation, and stronger self-regulation by reducing comparison and encouraging mentorship.
